My Approach
I trained Intergratively meaning I combined my studies with Person-centred and Psychodynamic approaches. Person centred is concerned with the 'here and now' and imbues the client with autonomy, managing and exploring feelings as they arise in a reflective space. Psychodynamic is more concerned with past experiences, what we have internalised and how this informs our present experience of the world and relationships. Weaving both theories into my practice allows me to bring these things into your awareness with the view to addressing patterns and behaviours that are no longer serving you. In addition to this, other models have formed part of my working experience. CBT, REBT and Motivational Interviewing underpinned my work with Addiction and facilitated shorter term solution focused therapy. Communication model, Transactional Analysis is concerned with our ways of communicating and works to bring awareness to the dynamics taking place and how to improve the quality of these interactions.

Having completed training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, I have found the skills very effective in working with those diagnosed with personality disorders or struggling with impulsivity, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal relationships. Committed to my continuous professional development and in accordance with the BACP as a member, I enhance my skillset undertaking new training as my knowledge evolves I believe giving my clients the best possible experience.
